ESIEE Paris welcomed Creteil's selection for the science engineering
Discover the 3 teams selected for the final.
On 16th May ESIEE Paris hosted Creteil’s selection for the Science Engineering Olympiad.
What is the science engineering olympiad?
The Olympiad is a technological creativity competition organised by UPSTI. It is an annual, national competition for students in their penultimate and final years of high school.
The goal is for the students to work in teams on an innovative and experimental project in the engineering field.
The project is completed by teams of 2-5 students who are supervised by one or two teachers. The project must incorporate multi-disciplinary experimental work in the science and technology fields.
The 2023 edition
This year’s competition focused on two themes:
- Engineering for mobility (the theme for final year students)
- Engineering for sport (the theme for penultimate year students)
Around 120 students or 31 teams from Créteil presented their projects to the 30 members of the jury.
The jury was made up of experts in the fields of education, industry, and higher education. The jury assessed the quality of the student’s work as well as their scientific argumentation and the quality of their expression during the presentation according to four criteria:
- The originality and innovation of the project
- The technological challenges that the design solves
- The relevance and analysis of the experiment
- The suitability of the chosen solution
The final
Three teams were selected by the jury and will compete in the final on 1st June 2023, at GIANT MINATEC, Grenoble.
- The “Handi Wheel” by students of the Louis Armand school in Nogent-sur-Marne.
- The “Nacelle sécurisée” (Safety Basket) by students of the Mozart school in Le Blanc-Mesnil
- The “Next Step” by students of the Etienne Bézout school in Nemours
Congratulations to all the finalists and students who participated !
